1/27/2024 0 Comments Apple store fashion valleyEnded up buying a Surface also while I was there, they almost make it too easy to buy things here. One cool policy about the Microsoft store is they give you 30 days to try a product out and you can easily bring it back with no restocking fee, which is quite nice. The saleslady wasn’t pushy at all and simply moved on after I declined. She did offer me a service plan and a Office 365 plan which I declined. The sales person answered all my questions fully about the Dell XPS 13 and quickly got my order together. I got there right when the place opened, so I didn’t have to wait for a sales person to come by and help me out. They carry pretty much all Microsoft products along with products that support Microsoft. The setup inside the store is like your typical Apple store, all the devices are out on display in front with the accessories sitting on the back wall. I think its quite funny how Microsoft opened up their store just a couple doors down from one of the main Apple store in San Diego, its almost like they are so desperate to rival with them. The laptop was the same price as Amazon and since Amazon charges sales tax now, there was no financial incentive on buying it off the internet now. A lot of sources were saying to go to the Microsoft store to buy it because they have «signature» edition laptops which do not have any garbage bloatware on the computer giving a vanilla unaltered version of pure Windows. After researching tons on the internet I came to the conclusion on which laptop I wanted buy. So basically I wanted a new ultra-book because I needed something lightweight with lots of battery life and I’ve never ever been a fan of Apple. Next time I’m around the area, I’ll have to take one of their classes to make the most of my surface pro 3! I went into the store and left the store happy within 20 minutes! My experience this time at Fashion Valley’s Microsoft store was definitely a more positive one thanks to the more helpful and super attentive staff. Though the first screen protector was cracked, the second one was perfect and both remained functioning when I went home. So my charger was changed and when I asked about the screen protector, she was really friendly and fast in helping me find an expert (thanks Chelse ) that could help me put it on. Turns out, the phone call was answered by someone at the call center– and she reassured me 2 – 3 weeks is definitely a long time to switch chargers. At first I was a bit wary since I didn’t know how she knew me, but I was really impressed when she told me she had read my Unilocal review the prior night and felt bad for my plight. I definitely changed my mind about this store! When I walked into Microsoft to return my faulty surface pro 3 charger for a new one and to get a screen protector since they were out of order last time, I was really surprised that one of the general managers (Michelle) recognized me. Thanks once again to Jason and the rest of the Microsoft Store team! I definitely had a great experience here in terms of customer service, with all the staff being very friendly and welcoming despite being busy handling the crowd in the store. He ran into the back and brought out a new one, changing it for me on the spot at no charge and without me even asking. After telling him the issue he immediately knew what to look out for and determined that the keyboard connection was faulty. I ended up being able to see a technician (Jason) at 6pm. Also, while I was surfing the internet members of the staff would come by periodically to check on me and offer water etc. There are many computers on display so the wait was definitely bearable. 30pm appointment, the staff explained that they were running a little behind schedule and I would likrly only get help around 6pm. The store was busy at 5pm on a Saturday and it was a little difficult to get more information and get checked in for an appointment. My Surface Pro 2 keyboard was having major issues (not working for over a week) so I finally took it in to get checked. 1/27/2024 0 Comments Trace adkins tour23 Asheville, NC (Jason Michael Carroll)įeb. 22 Charleston, SC (Jason Michael Carroll)įeb. 17 Grand Forks, ND (Jason Michael Carroll)įeb 21 Chattanooga, TN (Jason Michael Carroll)įeb. 16 La Crosse, WI (Jason Michael Carroll)įeb. 15 Toledo, OH (Jason Michael Carroll)įeb. I thought I’d outgrown all the chiptune music but dude! It just made me pine for the simple days of school and college. The soundtrack for these games is an incredible techno chiptune that just flows with the game harmoniously. Meanwhile, OlliOlli is rather drab in comparison which is fine, I guess, less distraction but the stages begin to feel rather samey after a while with the same kind of stage layout, whilst Olliwood has rollercoaster tracks you make your way across or kickflipping up and over a robot! You can tell I’m assumed by the simple things in life. The graphical style of OlliOlli Switch Stance is an explosion of pixel art beauty especially in the second game which oozes variety with its stage variation filled with streets filled with burning neon signs, gorgeous theme parks and robots, I mean this is Olliwood after all! The unforgiving nature may put a few of you off the ride of OlliOlli but damn do you feel good when you throw together something Rodney Mullen would be proud of! (Rodney Mullen is a master of manuals.) It’s definitely a game that’ll challenge your patience at times, but it really is worth sticking it out. You become a symphony of flips, nollies, noseslides and manuals, well, you do after falling over a lot to begin with. The expanded gameplay allows you to add more variety to your combos as you string tricks together without rails or curbs. Just like in the later Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater titles this was a game changer. The second game, OlliOlli 2 Welcome to Olliwood adds manuals and reverts. OlliOlli has you creating a chain of combos using only the left analog stick and pressing the B button to bend your knees land a perfect trick making it feel more like a rhythm game as you time the tricks into grinding and hopping off that rail or curb to flex your knees at the right time to land a bunch of gnarly tricks! Switch Stance is a revival of the skating genre but within in the 2D plain that tricks you into thinking it’ll be fairly simple but it is far from easy, it’s incredibly technical and takes a while to master. OlliOlli Switch Stance is a bundle of the two games in the franchise. I was generally shit at actual skating, so I played Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 but unfortunately, that time came to end and after the PS2 era, skating games slowly got phased out… Game and want to purchase it, you can support the developers by doing so here.TL DR: Two games wrapped in a bundle of technical 2D skating madness!įamily Focus? I typically encounter a few hiccups in my connection but didn’t notice any with the Linksys Max-Stream after a week of heavy usage. I tested my connection while streaming MLB TV on my Apple TV and was very pleased. Once you finally see that magical notification that your wireless network is connected and you are off and running, you’ll notice impressive performance. If you currently have a Gateway type modem/router combo, you will need to contact your provider to have them bridge your modem in order to run your new and improved router independently. There is one thing important detail to note when setting up the router. You still have to deal with plugging in wires at awkward angles but the search for networks is almost instantaneous. Setting up the Linksys Max-Stream was very simple and has very intuitive instructions that even a novice should have no problem with. There are those long, ridiculous passwords to type in, finding your network amongst a long list can be intermittent and of course there’s that mess of wires and cables. Setting up Linksys Max-Stream Tri-Band is easyĮveryone at some point has struggled with setting up a home network. I’ve yet to determine the purpose of the fancy LED display other than to remind you that your LINKSYS router is turned on and active, though I don’t imagine many people have their router on display and likely hide theirs in a TV stand like I did. Despite the shiny LED display on top of the router, it still looks like the same old science fiction-style space lander with Martian-like antennae sticking out in several different directions. It containes the router unit, an AC power cable and a rather short Ethernet cable. The packaging of the Max-Stream was pretty standard. Linksys Max-Stream Tri-Band -what’s in the box? Band 3 transfers up to 867 Mbps ideal for 4K TV, HD Streaming and Gaming.Band 2 at 5GHz has an optimal speed of up to 867 Mbps for file transfers and video conferencing.Band 1 at 2.4GHz has an optimal speed of up to 400 Mbps ideal for light usage like checking email and works with older Wireless N & G devices. Here is a breakdown of the 3 bands and what they do for you: In today’s data hungry world, more is better right? The AC2200 Ultra Wi-Fi Router, for instance, provides one 2GHz band, offering speeds up to 600Mbps, and two 5Ghz bands, for speeds up to 1300Mbps. It’s like adding another router under the hood. Tri-Band Wi-Fi simply means there are three wireless bands to accommodate even more devices on a network. What do you get with Linksys Max-Stream Tri-Band? By splitting the clients you’re able to make sure things like your Wi-Fi printer, networking cameras, and older generation devices won’t interfere with more frequently used devices like laptops, tablets and mobile phones. It’s basically like having two wireless routers in one. This allows for more devices and less interference. A Dual-Band router provides two wireless bands, one 2.4 GHz and another 5 GHz. Typically most routers these days are still happily functioning on Dual-Band or even Single-Band technology. (No, it’s not a dual band like Simon and Garfunkel.) What is a Wi-Fi band anyway? A band is basically a range of frequencies. Let’s backup and explain Tri-Band’s predecessor, the old reliable Dual-Band. What’s Tri-Band Wi-Fi? What’s a Wi-Fi band? So what makes the Linksys Max-Stream Tri-Band so special anyway? Well to answer that we must first explain what is Tri-Band Wi-Fi is. Why does one need a super fast router? Well nobody really NEEDS one, however if you’re in the middle of binge watching the new season of House of Cards there’s nothing worse than seeing a spinning wheel on Kevin Spacey’s face.Īlas, like all technology lately, faster is always better and it’s true that not all routers are born equal. Linksys has done a great job of keeping up with the growing demand of faster speeds and massive data transfers we need in order to use streaming services like Netflix. 1/27/2024 0 Comments Runes of magic forum euHave your bird beasts drop feathers and eggs, your spiders drop long creepy legs, and reptilian monsters drop scales and limbs when they’re defeated, or let your thief party members steal food like mushrooms and cheese or gems like diamonds and emeralds from monsters mid-fight! The fastest locomotive you will ever get is the Hamilton, which is the starting locomotive in the European scenario! Your basic revenue will come from passengers and mail, but because your trains are rather slow, it pays to divert some effort to materials, whose revenues are a lot less sensitive to speed. You start with very primitive locomotives that can barely pull a single wagon, and things don't get much better later on. England (1828): This scenario is tricky. Things are even worse for a player starting in England, as you need to build water ferries and the computer player will CERTAINLY have taken the northen european cities, so be ready to fight bitter Rate Wars with routes across water in order to gain a foothold in the Continent - feels like the Normandy Landings, yeah). Marseille will probably be open, but the route from Barcelona to Marseille is very unprofitable, as you have to track your way in a circle around the Gulf of Lion, but distance for revenue is still calculated by measuring the direct line between the two cities - above the water. Starting in central europe (around the Rhine River) makes this scenario a cakewalk, but starting in the fringes (Spain, Italy, the Balkans, or England) makes for a lot more interesting play (You will need to build long and expensive tunnels across the Pyrenees to get out of Spain, and by then the computer players will likely have already taken Bayonne and Toulouse, your exit points. Also don't fall in the trap of connecting cities that are too close (like Amsterdam and Utretch, or Trieste and Zagreb) as they will yield very little money. Mind the computer players, most are trash but the Stephensons can get out of hand early on. Unlike the Western USA scenario, playing the economy here may be worth it at the beggining, but station and train limits means by the late game you will be dismantling anything that isn't passenger and mail. Just connect cities and carry passengers and mail. Europe (1900): A lot of big cities and availability of very fast locomotives due to the late starting date makes this scenario much like the Western USA. Just start on some big city in the East and run a beeline for the Pacific to grab the bounty award. Fares are double for east-west transportation and half for north-south, wich makes trying to play the economy even harder. Western USA (1866): Unlike the previous scenario, in this one you only need to focus on connecting cities, carring passengers and mail, and using the fastest locomotive available. You will need to use also not only the fastest locomotive available, but also the slow-but-powerful ones for transportation of bulk resources. You need to play the economy, and build factories where huge clusters of resources spring. Simply connecting cities and transporting passengers and mail and nothing else will not work for you. Eastern USA (1830): The game mechanics were built for this scenario, and here and only here is where everything feels balanced. England is a nice variant for the veterans, and Europe become an interesting challenge for a veteran player if you choose an unfavorable starting point (like Spain, the Balkans, or even England). West USA and Europe are good starting scenarios for the begginer, but the real thing lies in the Eastern USA scenario. They aren't just different maps, but also different gameplay styles. One thing that many people don't realize about this game (even old-time veterans) is that each scenario feels different. This game is a great classic, still full playable today as the interface is smooth and the graphics keep a nice "retro" feeling (unlike the "DeLuxe" edition, whose graphics feel broken and whose interface is clumsy). 1/26/2024 0 Comments Helicon focus lightroom for pcAlso the Healing Tool is very nice for fixing dirt spots and other unwanted artifacts.
